How will customers benefit?

Appirio customers will get the best of both worlds – the same team, results and quality of service they’ve come to expect from Appirio, combined with the global scale, industry experience, and portfolio of Wipro. Customers are no longer limited to the offerings and partnerships Appirio has today. They now have access to a much bigger portfolio that includes other platforms and apps like AWS and Office 365, innovation platforms like HOLMES, and much deeper offerings in QA/testing, security, digital transformation, analytics, cloud infrastructure, managed services, business process services. Together, we can also offer more on-the-ground support through Wipro’s delivery centers around the world.

Will Appirio remain dedicated to cloud technologies?

Wipro was attracted to Appirio in part due to our commitment to cloud technologies, and that will continue to be our focus.

How will this acquisition affect Appirio’s existing partnerships?

It will strengthen and broaden our existing strategic partnerships. As a distinct entity inside Wipro, we will keep the team, tools and approach that have made Appirio stand out over the last 10 years. However, we will now have access to development and delivery centers around the world, more expertise and assets in key verticals and areas like security, QA and digital, as well as a broad customer base that includes most of the top pharmaceutical, biotech, financial institutions, manufacturers and media companies in the world.

What changes should Appirio customers expect?

We will ensure there is no disruption to your existing project with this acquisition, so expect no changes around project team or delivery approach. Over time, our goal is to ensure customers get the best of both worlds – the same team, results and quality of service they’ve come to expect from Appirio, combined with the global scale, industry experience, and portfolio of Wipro.

Will Appirio discontinue any lines of business?

We do not intend to discontinue any lines of business.

What will happen with the Appirio and Topcoder brands?

As part of the acquisition, Appirio will continue to operate as a standalone entity under the Appirio brand, housing all key cloud offerings. Appirio’s current CEO, Chris Barbin, will continue to lead Appirio. Topcoder will become part of Wipro’s office of the CTO, with no planned changes, including the continuation of TCO (Topcoder Open) in November.
